Door Weatherstrip Seal (Left or Right Hand, DWB 1110 82) is a direct-replacement door seal designed to protect the cabin from water, dust, and wind while reducing road noise and rattles. It seals the door perimeter to preserve interior trim and electrical components, improving comfort and preventing moisture damage. Built for durability and easy installation, this seal is ideal for restoration projects or routine replacement to restore factory fit and function.
Features:
- Direct replacement for DWB 1110 82 — fits left or right hand door applications.
- Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound to withstand temperature extremes and UV exposure.
- Creates a secure seal to block water, dust, wind and reduce road noise and vibration.
- Helps protect interior trim, electronics and metal surfaces from moisture and corrosion.
- Easy to install for restore-or-replace repairs; restores factory-style fit and appearance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pull back the door trim and peel out the existing seal. Use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching paint.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly: remove adhesive residue and dirt using isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag. Ensure the channel or flange is dry and free of debris.
- Test-fit the new seal: position the new DWB 1110 82 seal along the door edge to confirm orientation and fit for left or right side before applying adhesive.
- Apply adhesive: following the adhesive manufacturer's directions, apply a continuous bead or spot adhesive to the mounting flange or the back of the seal where indicated.
- Set the seal in place: starting at one end, press the seal firmly into the channel, working along the door edge and smoothing as you go. Use masking tape to hold complex areas if needed.
- Check alignment and trim excess: ensure door closes without binding and the seal compresses evenly. Trim any excess material only if necessary for a clean fit.
- Allow adhesive to cure: let the adhesive set for the recommended cure time before exposing to moisture or closing the door repeatedly (typically 1–24 hours depending on adhesive).
- Final check: inspect the entire perimeter for gaps and press any loose sections into place. Reinstall any trim pieces removed during the process.
