Features:
- Left or right hand door application for flexible installation.
- Durable, weather-resistant construction designed for long service life.
- Seals against water, wind, dust and road noise to protect interior trim.
- Restores original door fit and prevents corrosion from moisture intrusion.
- Easy to trim and fit — compatible with common weatherstrip adhesives and retainers.
- Designed for replacement and restoration projects to return doors to factory-like sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out any retainers and pull the old seal away from the door channel.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner; remove old adhesive, dirt and rust to ensure good adhesion.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door perimeter to confirm orientation (left/right) and length; mark trimming points if needed.
- Trim the new seal to length with scissors or a utility knife, keeping cuts straight for a tight seam at the ends.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the door channel or the weatherstrip base according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the seal into the channel and work along the door, aligning and seating the flange or retention lip as you go. Use a plastic trim tool or your fingers to ensure full engagement.
- Secure any seams or overlapping ends with masking tape or small clamps and wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow the adhesive to cure as directed (usually 1–24 hours) before closing the door repeatedly. If needed, use a heat gun on low to help conform the seal in cold conditions.
