Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; use a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver to help pry from stubborn sections.
- Remove any remaining adhesive, foam, or debris from the channel. Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner and allow it to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door perimeter to confirm orientation and fit. Trim any excess if necessary for smooth corners or end sections.
- If instructed by the adhesive manufacturer, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal lip in short sections to avoid premature drying.
- Press the new seal firmly into the channel, working from one end to the other. Ensure the seal fully seats into the channel and that corners and ends are aligned.
- Use masking tape to hold the seal in place along the jamb while adhesive cures (if adhesive was used). Follow adhesive cure time on the product label.
- Remove tape after the adhesive has set. Close the door and check for proper closure, uniform compression of the seal, and any gaps; make minor adjustments or trim if required.
