Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the interior door panel or trim pieces as needed to access the weatherstrip channel.
- Carefully pull out the old weatherstrip. Use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to release any retainers; remove old adhesive and debris.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner and a clean rag; ensure surfaces are dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge to verify orientation and length. Trim excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, starting at one end and working around the perimeter. Use masking tape to hold the seal in place if needed while adhesive sets.
- Gently tap any tight sections with a rubber mallet or push with gloved hands to ensure full seating and proper seal compression.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions, remove masking tape, reinstall door trim/panel, and test door closure to confirm fit and sealing.
