A direct-fit liftgate weatherstrip designed to seal the rear hatch opening and keep water, dust, and wind noise out of the cargo area. This weatherseal restores proper compression and alignment at the liftgate for reliable protection against leaks and interior damage. Made for durability and everyday use, it provides a long-lasting, easy-to-install replacement solution for worn or damaged seals.
Features:
- Direct-fit liftgate weatherstrip — replaces worn or damaged rear hatch seals.
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to ozone, UV and temperature changes.
- Seals against water, dust and wind noise to protect cargo and interior panels from moisture damage.
- Push-in or adhesive-backed design for straightforward installation and secure retention.
- Ideal for restoration or maintenance — restores factory fit and reduces vibration and rattles.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes (plus adhesive cure time if required)
Instructions:
- Open the liftgate and carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel or detaching clips/adhesive.
- Remove any remaining adhesive, foam, or debris from the sealing channel. Clean the surface thoroughly with a cleaner and finish with rubbing alcohol; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the opening to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if needed, leaving a small allowance at the ends for proper compression.
- If the seal is adhesive-backed, peel a short section of backing and begin pressing the seal into the channel at one corner, working around the opening. For non-adhesive seals, seat the retention flange into the channel and press firmly.
- Work slowly and press the seal into place in short sections to ensure even seating and avoid stretching. Use masking tape to hold sections if adhesive is used.
- Trim and tuck the ends for a neat finish. Close the liftgate gently and check for uniform compression and gaps. Reopen and adjust as necessary.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (typically 24 hours) before exposing the seal to moisture or heavy use.
