Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on level ground, lower the tailgate, and support it if necessary.
- Inspect the existing end cap and remove any retaining clips or screws using the appropriate screwdriver or socket.
- Carefully pry off the old end cap with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver, taking care not to damage surrounding sheet metal or paint.
- Clean the mounting area with a rag and solvent to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive so the new cap seats properly.
- Test-fit the new end cap and align it with the tailgate edge and any locating tabs or holes.
- Seat the end cap firmly into place; press until clips engage or install factory/supplied fasteners. Use a rubber mallet gently if needed to fully engage snap-fit features.
- Reinstall any removed hardware and check tailgate operation to ensure proper alignment and latch engagement.
- Wipe away any excess solvent and allow any adhesive or sealant to cure if used.
