Instructions:
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any retaining clips or molding. Use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching the paint or glass.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and mating surfaces with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner; remove old adhesive and debris.
- Test-fit the new seal around the glass to confirm orientation and fit. Note the top and bottom locations before final installation.
- Apply a light coat of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the seal to aid sliding and positioning. If your application requires adhesive, apply a compatible weatherstrip adhesive sparingly to the channel as directed by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Start seating the seal at the top center of the window and work outward and down, pressing the seal into the channel. Use a rubber mallet with a protective block if gentle persuasion is needed.
- Trim any excess material only if necessary for a custom fit, and re-install any trim or retaining clips that were removed.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's instructions and verify the seal by checking for gaps and testing for leaks once fully set.
