The Precision Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal WCR 1158 is a replacement rear-window seal designed to provide a secure, factory-style fit and long-lasting protection. Featuring an integrated trim groove for a lockstrip, this weatherstrip seals out water, wind and road noise while preventing vibration and glass movement. Constructed from durable EPDM rubber, it resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes for reliable performance in restoration and maintenance projects. The gasket restores proper window alignment and retention, making it an ideal upgrade when replacing brittle or damaged seals.
Features:
- WCR 1158 rear window weatherstrip with integrated trim groove for lockstrip
- Premium EPDM rubber resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes for long life
- Trim groove accepts standard lockstrip for secure, factory-style window retention
- Seals out water, wind and dust while reducing vibration and road noise
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged seals — ideal for restoration and maintenance
- Designed for straightforward installation and reliable, leak-free performance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any existing lockstrip. Use plastic trim tools to avoid damaging paint or channel metal.
- Thoroughly clean the pinch-weld, glass channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive and residue; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new WCR 1158 weatherstrip around the window to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if required for a snug fit — cut conservatively and re-check fit.
- If using a separate lockstrip, begin inserting it into the weatherstrip's trim groove at one corner. Work slowly around the perimeter, seating the lockstrip steadily into the groove. Use a rubber mallet or block to gently tap the lockstrip into place if necessary.
- Optionally apply small dabs of weatherstrip adhesive at high-stress points or corners for extra hold. Follow adhesive instructions and allow recommended tack time.
- Align the weatherstrip with the vehicle channel and press firmly into the pinch-weld, working your way around the window and ensuring the gasket fully seats into the channel.
- Reinstall any trim or glass components removed during disassembly. Inspect the seal for gaps, and make minor adjustments by re-seating or trimming as needed.
- Perform a water test (gentle hose spray) and road test to confirm there are no leaks or wind noise. Allow any adhesive to fully cure before exposing to heavy moisture.
