The Precision Rear Gate Weatherstrip Seal GWL 1130 92 is a durable, exact-fit weatherseal designed to restore and protect a vehicle’s rear gate. It prevents water intrusion, wind noise, dust, and road vibration while protecting trim and the cargo area. Made from long-lasting EPDM rubber with UV and ozone resistance, the seal provides reliable compression and retention for years. Easy to install and ideal for restoration or replacement, it helps maintain interior comfort and prevents corrosion and water damage.
Features:
- Replaces worn rear gate weatherstrip to restore proper sealing and prevent leaks.
- Made from high-quality EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
- Forms a tight seal to reduce wind noise, vibration, and dust intrusion.
- Designed for reliable compression and retention to keep the seal in place during normal use.
- Simple installation—suitable for DIY restoration or professional replacement.
- Helps prevent interior water damage and rust by restoring factory-style sealing performance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the rear gate and remove any trim, clips, or fasteners that obstruct access to the existing weatherstrip.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip. Use a trim tool to pry away clips and adhesive residues without damaging the flange.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting flange and surrounding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the gate edge to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess length if necessary.
- If the seal uses adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Align the new weatherstrip at one end, press firmly into place along the flange, and work around the gate, ensuring consistent compression and correct positioning.
- Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive sets, and pay special attention to corners and joint areas for a continuous seal.
- Reinstall any removed trim or fasteners. Close and open the gate to verify fit and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions before exposing the seal to moisture or heavy use.
