Precision Vent Glass, Tempered Left Hand, Green DV04950 GTN is a tempered, green-tinted vent window designed to replace damaged or missing left-hand vent glass. It provides safety, clarity, and a factory-style appearance while restoring proper sealing and reducing wind noise. Tempered construction increases durability and shatter-resistance, making it a reliable choice for restoration projects or routine replacement on compatible vehicles that use this vent glass specification.
Features:
- Left-hand vent glass, tempered and green-tinted for reduced glare and improved UV filtering.
- Tempered safety glass for enhanced strength and shatter-resistance.
- Factory-style shape for proper alignment and sealing with existing channels and gaskets.
- Restores weatherproofing, reduces wind noise, and prevents interior water intrusion.
- Durable finish resists chips and scratches for long-lasting clarity.
- Suitable for restoration and replacement applications; installs with common hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and disconnect the battery if working near powered components.
- Roll down the window (if applicable) and remove inner door panel fasteners with appropriate screwdrivers and sockets; gently pry off the panel with a trim tool.
- Locate and remove any retainers, screws, or brackets securing the vent window assembly or vent frame.
- Carefully detach the vent frame from the door, supporting it to avoid bending or dropping.
- If the old glass is present, loosen or remove the channel/gasket enough to free the glass; use masking tape to hold any cracked pieces and wear gloves.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area of dirt, adhesive, or corrosion. Wipe glass mounting surfaces with a clean cloth.
- Apply a light film of silicone spray or soapy water to the gasket or channel to ease installation.
- Place the new tempered vent glass into the channel at the correct angle, ensuring the glass seats fully into the channel and aligns with any locating tabs or stops.
- Reinstall the vent frame, brackets, and retainers, making sure the glass remains properly seated and the frame is not twisted.
- Reattach the door panel and fasteners, test the vent for proper fit and sealing, and check for any wind noise or leaks. Make final adjustments as needed.
