Precision Vent Glass DT02563 CLN is a tempered, clear replacement vent (ventlite) glass designed for left- or right-hand vent window openings. It secures and seals the vent opening while restoring visibility and the original appearance of the vehicle. Tempered construction increases impact resistance and enhances occupant safety by breaking into small, granular pieces if shattered. Ideal for restoration and maintenance projects, this glass provides reliable, long-lasting performance and an OEM-style fit when matched to the correct application.
Features:
- Tempered clear vent glass for left- or right-hand vent window openings.
- Tempered safety glass resists impact and breaks into small granules for reduced injury risk.
- Restores proper sealing, reduces wind noise and prevents water intrusion.
- OEM-style dimensions for accurate fit and alignment in compatible vehicles.
- Durable and reliable — suitable for restoration and replacement applications.
- Simple replacement improves visibility and vehicle appearance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, set the parking brake and disconnect the battery if you will remove interior panels near electrical components.
- Open the vent window (if still functional) and remove any interior trim or exterior bezel that secures the vent glass using the appropriate screwdrivers and trim tools.
- Support the existing vent glass with a suction cup or gloved hand, then remove hinge screws, retainers, or clamps holding the glass in place.
- Carefully lift out the old glass. If broken, remove all fragments wearing gloves and eye protection. Vacuum or brush out the channel and clean mating surfaces with a lint-free cloth.
- Inspect or replace the vent gasket/seal. Apply a thin bead of silicone sealant where required by the vehicle application and allow initial set if directed by the sealant instructions.
- Position the new tempered vent glass into the channel, aligning the hinge pin and mounting holes. Work slowly to avoid pinching the glass or seal.
- Reinstall the hinge screws, retainers or clamps and tighten progressively to secure the glass while keeping it properly aligned. Do not over-torque fasteners.
- Operate the vent to confirm smooth opening/closing, proper alignment, and a consistent seal. Check for wind noise and water intrusion; adjust as needed.
- Reinstall trim and bezel components. Clean the new glass with a non-ammonia glass cleaner and allow any sealant to fully cure per manufacturer instructions before driving.
