Precision Windshield Weatherstrip Seal Without Trim Groove, Self Locking Type WBL 848 is a self-locking EPDM rubber seal engineered to secure windshield glass, prevent water intrusion, and reduce wind noise and vibration. Designed for vehicles that use self-locking windshield seals without a trim groove (confirm OEM fitment before purchase), this profile provides reliable long-term sealing with UV and ozone resistance for durability. Its no-trim-groove design and flexible material simplify installation while restoring factory fit and appearance.

  • Utility knife or razor blade
  • Clean rags and isopropyl alcohol
  • Soapy water or silicone lubricant
  • Rubber roller or windshield molding tool
  • Gloves
  • Masking tape
  • Suction cups (optional for handling glass)
Instructions:
  1. Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out the existing seal using a plastic trim tool and cut away any bonded sections with a utility knife.
  2. Clean the windshield flange and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and seal residue; allow to dry.
  3. Inspect the metal flange for rust or damage and repair as needed before installing the new seal.
  4. Test-fit the new seal around the windshield flange to confirm orientation and fit; trim excess if required (leave extra material and trim after seating if unsure).
  5. Apply a light coating of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the bulb and flange to ease installation—avoid aggressive solvents that can damage EPDM.
  6. Begin seating the seal at the top center of the windshield and work outward and downward, pressing the lip into the flange so the self-locking bead engages.
  7. Use a rubber roller or molding tool to press the seal fully into the channel around the entire perimeter, ensuring the bead is uniformly seated.
  8. Trim any excess material flush with the windshield edges, clean off lubricant, and allow the seal to settle before testing.
  9. Check for proper fit and test for leaks with a gentle water spray after installation is complete.
