An OEM-style windshield weatherstrip with a built-in trim groove designed to accept steel windshield trim and create a watertight, vibration-damping seal. Engineered from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant EPDM rubber, this WCR 4235 S GM profile restores proper fit and finish while preventing leaks, wind noise, and trim rattle. Ideal for restoration projects and replacement applications on GM vehicles that utilize the WCR 4235 S windshield seal profile, it provides a reliable, long-lasting solution that installs with common trim tools.
Features:
- Fits GM vehicles that use the WCR 4235 S windshield weatherstrip profile — commonly used on various classic and later-model GM cars and trucks.
- Manufactured from durable EPDM rubber for UV, ozone, and temperature resistance.
- Integrated trim groove accepts steel windshield trim for a secure, OEM appearance.
- Creates a watertight seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise and vibration.
- Pre-formed profile for easier installation; can be trimmed for exact fit where necessary.
- Ideal for restoration and maintenance — replaces worn, cracked, or flattened original seals to restore fit and finish.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the exterior steel trim using a plastic trim tool or protected flat screwdriver to avoid damage.
- Pull out the old weatherstrip and clean the windshield channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the windshield to verify orientation and length. Trim excess material if necessary, keeping the cut square for best sealing.
- Lightly wet the sealing lip and channel with soapy water to aid installation and sliding into place.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the windshield channel, starting from one corner and working around the perimeter. Make sure the bead seats fully into the channel.
- Reinstall the steel trim into the seal’s trim groove, tapping gently with a rubber mallet as needed to engage the trim without deforming it.
- Inspect the seal for uniform seating and ensure there are no gaps or pinched areas; adjust as needed.
- Allow any residual moisture to dry. If adhesive is desired for a permanent bond, apply a suitable urethane or weatherstrip adhesive as directed by the adhesive manufacturer before final seating of the seal and trim.
