A precision-molded windshield weatherstrip seal engineered for windshields that use the steel trim profile WCR 436 D. The integrated trim groove accepts and secures steel trim while the soft-but-durable rubber lip creates a watertight, vibration-damping seal around the glass. Built from weather-resistant rubber, this seal restores proper fit and appearance, prevents leaks and wind noise, and protects interior surfaces from water and debris. Ideal for restoration or replacement where an exact trim-mounted seal is required.
Features:
- Fits windshields using the steel trim profile WCR 436 D — verify trim profile before ordering.
- Constructed from weather-resistant EPDM rubber for long-lasting flexibility and UV resistance.
- Integrated trim groove securely accepts steel trim to hold the glass and trim in place.
- Prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and minimizes vibration for a tighter cabin seal.
- OEM-style replacement ideal for restoration projects or routine weatherstrip renewal.
- Designed for straightforward installation with common hand tools; seals can be trimmed for a precise fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 30 minutes – 2 hours (depending on vehicle and whether trim/glass removal is required)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect surrounding paint and interior with drop cloths.
- If present, carefully remove the steel trim using a plastic trim tool or screwdriver to expose the old seal.
- Remove the old weatherstrip seal and any adhesive or residue using a razor blade and solvent; clean the pinchweld and glass edge with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.
- Inspect the steel trim and pinch weld for damage or rust; repair or refinish as needed before installing the new seal.
- Apply a light coating of silicone spray or soapy water to the new seal's outer bead to ease installation.
- Position the new seal so the trim groove aligns with the steel trim profile; start seating the seal at the top center of the windshield and press it into the channel, working outward and downward on both sides.
- Ensure corners and ends are fully seated; trim any excess material with a utility knife for a neat finish.
- Reinstall the steel trim over the groove (if removed), check alignment, and allow any lubricant to dry. Perform a water test to confirm there are no leaks.
