A precision-molded windshield weatherstrip designed to fit rigid steel windshield trim on 1967-era vehicles (verify fitment). This seal features a dedicated trim groove to lock onto rigid steel trim, restoring the factory appearance while creating a reliable waterproof barrier. Made from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant rubber, it reduces wind noise, prevents leaks and protects the windshield channel from corrosion. Ideal for restorations and maintenance, the part offers dependable performance and straightforward installation for a clean, long-lasting seal.
Features:
- Designed for 1967-era vehicles with rigid steel windshield trim (confirm exact fitment before purchase).
- Precision trim groove engineered to seat securely over rigid steel windshield trim.
- Durable EPDM-style rubber resists UV, ozone, and weathering for long service life.
- Prevents water intrusion and reduces wind noise and vibration for improved cabin comfort.
- Restoration-grade replacement that restores factory appearance and function.
- Simple press-fit installation with optional adhesive for extra retention.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any rigid trim if required, using a trim tool to avoid damaging the metal.
- Clean the windshield channel and rigid trim thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the windshield to verify orientation and length; trim excess if necessary.
- Lightly lubricate the seal groove with soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation (avoid petroleum-based products).
- Seat the weatherstrip groove over the rigid steel trim, starting at one corner and pressing progressively along the length to ensure even seating.
- If desired, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive in areas prone to movement (follow adhesive manufacturer cure times).
- Inspect the entire perimeter to ensure the seal is fully seated and there are no gaps or pinched areas.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per instructions, then test for leaks with a gentle water spray before final reassembly of removed trim or molding.
