This inner header weatherstrip seal is a direct-fit replacement for 1978-1996 Ford Bronco models, designed to restore the seal between the windshield/header area and the vehicle's roof. Molded from durable, weather-resistant material, it prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and protects interior trim from damage. The OE-style profile provides reliable long-term sealing, improved cabin comfort, and an easy installation that is suitable for restoration or routine maintenance projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1978-1996 Ford Bronco (inner header weatherstrip) — direct-fit replacement.
  • Made from durable, weather- and UV-resistant rubber compound for long service life.
  • Seals header and windshield area to prevent leaks, drafts, and road noise.
  • OE-profile design restores original fit and appearance for restoration projects.
  • Easy to install with basic tools; resists ozone, temperature extremes, and compression set.
  • Helps protect interior trim and structural sheetmetal from moisture damage and corrosion.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Utility knife or razor
  • Isopropyl alcohol and clean rags
  • Weatherstrip adhesive (if required)
  • Heat gun or hair dryer (optional, for cold weather)
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect surrounding trim with masking tape or clean rags.
  2. Carefully remove the interior trim or retainers that cover the header area to expose the old weatherstrip.
  3. Remove the old weatherstrip: pry gently with a trim tool or screwdriver and cut away any bonded sections with a utility knife.
  4. Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue; allow to dry.
  5. Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to confirm orientation and length. Trim the seal to length if necessary using a sharp utility knife.
  6. If recommended or where channels are worn, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions in the channel or on the seal contact surface.
  7. Press the new weatherstrip into the channel starting at one end and working across the header, ensuring the bulb and flange seat fully and evenly. Use moderate, even pressure to engage the profile.
  8. Reinstall any trim or retainers removed earlier and inspect the seal for gaps. If adhesive was used, allow proper cure time before exposing to moisture.
  9. Test for fit: check for wind noise at speed and inspect the interior for any signs of leaks after a light spray test or rain.
