Two-piece left and right hard top side weatherstrip seal kit (part BWP 1110 73) designed for 1973 hard-top vehicles. These seals create a tight, reliable barrier between the hard top and vehicle body to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and protect interior trim. Molded from a weather-resistant rubber compound, the seals resist UV, ozone, and temperature-related cracking for dependable long-term performance. Pre-formed contours and direct-fit design simplify installation, making this kit ideal for restorations and routine seal replacement.
Features:
- Fits 1973 hard-top vehicles — verify part BWP 1110 73 for exact fitment.
- Two-piece kit includes left and right side seals for complete replacement.
- Made from weather-resistant rubber compound to resist UV, ozone, and cracking.
- Seals against water intrusion and reduces wind noise for a quieter cabin.
- Pre-formed design for direct-fit installation and accurate alignment.
- Ideal for restoration projects and routine maintenance of hard top seals.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and remove the hard top or secure it per vehicle service instructions to allow access to the seal area.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to pry out the old seal and a razor blade to cut away any bonded adhesive, taking care not to damage surrounding paint or trim.
- Thoroughly clean the sealing channel and mating surfaces with a solvent to remove dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow surfaces to dry completely.
- Test fit each new seal in its respective side to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess length only if necessary, using scissors or snips.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the sealing channel or the backside of the new seal per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the seal firmly into the channel, starting at one end and working toward the other. Ensure pre-formed contours seat fully and that the seal aligns with adjacent trim.
- Use masking tape or clamps to hold the seal in place while the adhesive cures if recommended by the adhesive instructions. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive to set for the recommended cure time before reinstalling the hard top (if removed) and testing for leaks or wind noise. Re-check seal fit after a short road test and tighten or adjust as needed.
