Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and ensure the work area is dry and shaded.
- Carefully remove the old header weatherstrip: use a trim tool or protected flat-head screwdriver to pry out clips and pull the old seal free. Use a scraper to remove adhesive buildup.
- Clean the header channel and surrounding flange with isopropyl alcohol or mild cleaner until free of dirt, old adhesive, and residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the header to confirm orientation and fit. Trim any excess with a utility knife if needed.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the header channel, working from one end to the other. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly without crushing the profile.
- Re-check alignment and ensure the seal engages evenly along its entire length. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive (if used) to cure per instructions before exposing to water or driving. Reinstall any trim pieces removed during the process.
