Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and wear safety glasses.
- Carefully remove the lower windshield molding or trim using a trim tool or flat screwdriver to expose the old rivet.
- If the old rivet is damaged or stuck, drill out the rivet head with an appropriate bit and remove the remaining body with pliers.
- Clean the mounting area and hole of dirt, corrosion, or old sealant; apply rust inhibitor if needed.
- Align the molding/trim with the windshield edge and insert the new rivet through the hole so the head sits flush against the trim.
- Set the rivet using a rivet gun according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions. If a rivet gun is not available, gently tap the rivet into place with a hammer and punch, taking care not to deform the trim.
- Wipe away any debris and apply a small bead of silicone sealant around the rivet if additional sealing is desired.
- Reinstall any surrounding trim panels, verify secure fitment, and test for wind noise and water tightness.
