The Precision Glass Setting Block 5202 002 is a durable glass support designed to set, align and cushion automotive side and vent glass during installation or repair. Built to maintain the correct glass height and spacing, it prevents stress cracks, reduces vibration and ensures a consistent weatherseal. Suitable for many passenger vehicles and classic cars, this block is an OEM-style replacement that improves fitment reliability and long-term performance while being simple to position during door reassembly.

  • Work gloves and safety glasses
  • Masking tape or glass support block
  • Glass suction cups (recommended for heavy glass)
Instructions:
  1. Disconnect the vehicle battery (if required for power windows) and lower the window to access the setting block area.
  2. Remove the door trim panel and any vapor barrier necessary to expose the regulator and glass lower edge.
  3. Temporarily support the glass with masking tape, a block, or suction cups so it will not fall when disconnecting the regulator.
  4. Locate the existing setting block where the glass meets the regulator shoe; remove any fasteners or pry out the old block as required.
  5. Position the new 5202 002 block between the glass and regulator shoe at the original mounting location; ensure the block seats flush and aligns with the glass edge.
  6. Reinstall any retainers or fasteners to secure the block to the regulator shoe, if applicable; verify the glass moves smoothly through its full travel.
  7. Adjust window height if necessary so the glass contacts the block correctly and seals against the weatherstrip.
  8. Reinstall the vapor barrier and door panel, reconnect the battery (if disconnected), and perform a final operation check to confirm proper alignment and quiet operation.
