Instructions:
- Park on level ground, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety if working near electrical components.
- Lower the window (if applicable) and remove the interior door panel by removing visible screws and gently prying out retainers with a trim tool.
- Peel back the vapor barrier as needed to access the lock assembly and linkage. Keep the barrier intact if you plan to reuse it.
- Disconnect the lock and latch linkage rods from the interior handle, exterior handle, and lock cylinder; note or mark rod positions for reassembly.
- Remove mounting screws or bolts securing the old latch/lock assembly and withdraw the old components from the door.
- Compare the new parts to the old ones to ensure correct orientation, then install the new latch and lock cylinder into the door and secure with the supplied fasteners.
- Reconnect all linkage rods to their respective levers and handles. Apply a light coat of grease to pivot points and the latch mechanism.
- Install and loosely fit the striker plate; close the door to check alignment and locking action, then adjust striker plate position as needed for a smooth latch.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier (if removed) and interior door panel. Reconnect the battery if previously disconnected.
- Test lock and unlock function, interior and exterior handles, and power/child lock features (if equipped) several times to confirm proper operation.
