The Precision Rain Sensor Gel Kit RSG-1659 is a windshield sensor adhesive system designed to restore or reinstall windshield-mounted rain/light sensors. The silicone-based gel creates a durable, weather-resistant bond that secures the sensor to the glass, prevents moisture intrusion, and minimizes vibration and false readings. Easy to apply and engineered for long-term performance, this kit is ideal for repair, restoration, or replacement of windshield sensors on a wide range of vehicles.

Suggested Tools:
  • Isopropyl alcohol (70%+)
  • Lint-free cloth or alcohol wipes
  • Plastic scraper or razor blade (careful use)
  • Masking tape or alignment template
  • Disposable gloves
  • Small spatula or applicator (may be included)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle in a shaded, dust-free area and ensure windshield is at a stable temperature.
  2. Remove the sensor and scrape off old adhesive from both the sensor mounting face and windshield with a plastic scraper or razor blade. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry.
  3. Use masking tape or an alignment template to mark the exact sensor position on the outside of the windshield if required.
  4. Apply a thin, even bead of the gel to the sensor mounting surface or directly to the cleaned area on the windshield according to kit guidance.
  5. Position the sensor onto the windshield using the alignment marks and press firmly to seat the gel. Remove any excess gel immediately with alcohol wipes.
  6. Secure the sensor in position (tape or temporary support) and allow the adhesive to cure undisturbed. Initial set may occur within 30–60 minutes; full cure is typically 12–24 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
  7. After cure, remove supports, test sensor operation, and clean any remaining residue from the windshield.
