The Precision Windshield Top Molding WFT D1256 is a top-edge windshield trim designed to seal, secure, and finish the upper perimeter of the windshield. This molding helps prevent water intrusion, wind noise, and debris entry while restoring the original appearance of the vehicle. It is a vehicle-specific replacement part — verify fitment for your year, make, and model before purchase. Made for durability and long-term performance, the molding offers corrosion resistance, consistent fit, and straightforward installation for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Vehicle-specific replacement — confirm fitment for your year, make, and model before ordering
- Constructed from durable, weather-resistant materials to resist cracking and corrosion
- Seals the top edge of the windshield to prevent leaks, drafts, and road noise
- Restores factory appearance and helps protect windshield adhesives and channel from damage
- Designed for direct-fit replacement; reduces installation time compared with custom trims
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 20-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake, and wear gloves to protect hands and trim.
- Carefully pry off the old top molding using a plastic trim tool; use a flat-head screwdriver only where necessary and protect painted surfaces with tape.
- Remove any remaining clips, adhesive residue, and dirt from the windshield channel. Clean the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new molding along the windshield top to confirm orientation and clip alignment.
- If the molding uses adhesive or butyl tape, apply new adhesive per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. If it uses clips, ensure all clips are seated in the molding.
- Align the molding with the windshield top and press firmly from end to center to engage clips or adhesive. Use a soft, even pressure to avoid deforming the molding.
- Re-check that the molding sits flush with adjacent trim and that there are no gaps. Trim any excess material if necessary.
- Allow any adhesive to cure for the recommended time before driving. Reinspect for leaks after the first wash or light rain.
