Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and open the front door on the side you’ll work on for access.
- Use a plastic trim removal tool to gently pry up and peel back the windshield side molding to expose the old clips. Work slowly to avoid bending the molding.
- Remove any damaged or remaining old clips from the vehicle flange and from the molding. Use a flat-head screwdriver only if a clip is stubborn.
- Clean the clip mounting area and the molding channel with isopropyl alcohol and a rag to remove dirt and adhesive residues. Allow to dry.
- Position the new clips onto the molding or onto the vehicle flange per vehicle orientation (match the clip spacing to the original layout). Press each clip onto the molding until it seats securely.
- Carefully align the molded edge with the windshield flange and press the molding so each clip snaps into the vehicle flange. Work along the length to ensure even seating.
- Inspect the installed molding for proper alignment and retention. Re-seat any clips that did not fully engage.
- Close the door and check for wind noise or gaps at higher speeds; if needed, adjust clip placement or add any remaining clips for improved retention.
