A direct-fit liftgate weatherstrip designed for 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II models, this seal replaces worn or cracked liftgate rubber to restore a watertight, quiet closure. Molded from durable EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to ozone, UV and temperature extremes, it seals the liftgate perimeter to prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise and protect interior trim. Engineered for OEM-style fit and reliable performance, it’s an essential part for restoring or maintaining vehicle weather protection and cabin comfort.
Features:
- Fits 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II liftgates (direct-fit replacement).
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for UV, ozone and temperature resistance.
- Seals liftgate perimeter to prevent water leaks and reduce wind noise.
- OEM-style profile for proper alignment and reliable closure.
- Easy to install with basic tools; ideal for restoration or routine replacement.
- Restores original weather protection and helps prevent interior damage.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the liftgate and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel or peeling it away from the mounting surface; use a trim tool to avoid scratching paint.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting channel and surrounding surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt and residue; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the liftgate perimeter to confirm orientation and length; trim any excess with a utility knife for a precise fit.
- If adhesive is recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel (follow adhesive manufacturer instructions).
- Press the new seal firmly into the channel or onto the mounting flange, starting at one corner and working around the perimeter. Use masking tape or light clamps to hold the seal in place where needed.
- Close and open the liftgate several times to seat the seal and check for alignment; make minor adjustments so the seal compresses evenly without binding.
- Allow adhesive to cure as directed (if used) before driving. Recheck fit and trim any high spots for a uniform seal.
