The Precision Glass Run Channel Kit (GRK 1110 81) is a left- and right-hand, 2-piece replacement set designed to restore proper window alignment, sealing, and smooth operation. These glass run channels guide the door glass, reduce wind noise and vibration, and prevent water intrusion and interior damage caused by worn or collapsed channels. Constructed from a durable rubber compound with corrosion-resistant retainers, the kit provides long-lasting performance and helps return windows to factory-like fit and function. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance, the kit helps eliminate rattles, improves window travel, and extends the life of the door assembly.
Features:
- High-quality rubber channels with corrosion-resistant retainers for long-lasting performance.
- Restores proper glass alignment to reduce wind noise, vibration, and rattling.
- Seals against water intrusion to protect interior trim and electrical components.
- Direct replacement left & right hand pieces — ideal for restoration or routine maintenance.
- Straightforward installation with commonly available hand tools; no special equipment required.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45–90 minutes per door
Instructions:
- Disconnect the vehicle battery (recommended if removing powered window components).
- Remove the interior door panel: detach trim fasteners, screws, and electrical connectors for switches and courtesy lights.
- Lower the glass to access the top of the glass run channel and, if necessary, detach the glass from the regulator per vehicle service procedure.
- Carefully pry out and remove the old/rusted retainers and pull the worn glass run channel from the door frame; use a utility knife to cut away adhesive or degraded rubber if needed.
- Clean the mounting surface and channel slot thoroughly with a mild cleaner and rag. Remove debris and rust to ensure a smooth seating surface.
- Apply a thin coat of silicone or Teflon-based lubricant to the new channel to ease glass installation and reduce noise.
- Insert the new channel into the door frame starting at one end; work it into the channel slot and seat any retainers or clips, ensuring the channel is fully seated along its length.
- Reposition the glass into the new channel and test window travel by hand or with the regulator to confirm smooth operation and proper alignment.
- Reattach the glass to the regulator (if removed), reconnect electrical connectors, and reinstall the door panel and hardware.
- Test the window operation several times to confirm proper sealing, smooth movement, and absence of rattles or binding. Recheck fasteners and trim for secure fitment.
