A heavy-duty glass weatherstrip lockstrip supplied in a 100-foot roll for professional repair shops and DIY restorers. This engineered metal insert locks automotive glass into rubber window channels, keeping the glass aligned, reducing vibration and wind noise, and preventing the weatherstrip from rolling or popping out. Built with a high-strength steel core and a corrosion-resistant finish, the lockstrip provides long-term reliability and consistent performance across cars, trucks, and SUVs. Ideal for restoration, collision repair, and routine maintenance, it delivers durable, easy-to-install support for replacement or rebuilt window assemblies.
Features:
  • Universal fit for most cars, trucks, and SUVs — compatible with standard glass run channels.
  • Supplied as a 100-foot roll (WLS 100 / R-100) for bulk application or multiple vehicles.
  • High-strength steel core with a corrosion-resistant coating for long-lasting durability.
  • Secures and aligns window glass in the rubber weatherstrip, reducing wind noise and vibration.
  • Easy to cut and install — suitable for professional shops and experienced DIYers.
  • Perfect for classic car restoration, collision repair, and weatherstrip replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15–30 minutes per window (varies by vehicle and experience)
Suggested Tools:
  • Tape measure
  • Tin snips or aviation snips
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Rubber/trim roller or block of wood and hammer
  • Spray bottle with soapy water or rubber lubricant
  • Trim tool or flat screwdriver (protected tip)
  • Work gloves and safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Measure the window channel and determine required lockstrip length; allow a small overlap if required by the vehicle.
  2. Cut the lockstrip from the roll with tin snips to the measured length; deburr any sharp edges.
  3. Clean the rubber channel and glass run area to remove old adhesive, dirt, and residue.
  4. Lightly lubricate the inside of the rubber channel and the lockstrip with soapy water or a rubber-safe lubricant to ease insertion.
  5. Insert the lockstrip into the open edge of the rubber weatherstrip channel with the locking flange positioned to engage the glass once installed.
  6. Seat the lockstrip fully along the channel using a rubber/trim roller or a protected block and light hammer taps, working from one end to the other.
  7. Install or reposition the glass into the channel; cycle the window slowly to confirm smooth travel and secure engagement.
  8. Trim any excess lockstrip flush with the weatherstrip ends and re-check fit, making adjustments as needed.
