WCR 584 windshield weatherstrip seal is a direct-fit replacement designed for sedan, coupe and wagon body styles that use steel windshield trim. Engineered to hold the steel moulding securely while creating a watertight, wind-noise-reducing seal between glass and body, this seal restores factory fit and finish. Molded from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound with an integrated trim groove, it offers long-term resistance to UV, ozone and temperature cycling, plus easy installation for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits sedan, coupe and wagon body styles that use steel windshield trim (WCR 584 application).
- Premium weather-resistant rubber compound for long-lasting durability and flexibility.
- Integrated trim groove securely retains steel windshield moulding for factory appearance.
- Creates a watertight seal to reduce leaks, wind noise and vibration.
- Push-in design with optional adhesive use for secure fitment and easy installation.
- UV- and ozone-resistant construction ideal for restoration or replacement applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes (vehicle dependent)
Instructions:
- Remove the old trim and weatherstrip: carefully pry off steel moulding with a plastic trim tool and remove the existing seal.
- Clean the pinch weld and glass surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt and residue.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip around the windshield opening to confirm orientation and fit; trim excess only if necessary.
- If using adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the pinch weld per adhesive instructions; otherwise apply a light coating of weatherstrip lubricant to the seal bead for easier installation.
- Begin seating the seal at the top center of the windshield and press the bulb into the pinch weld, working outward and downward on both sides to ensure even alignment and avoid twists.
- Engage the steel trim into the seal’s groove: position the moulding and press it into the channel along the perimeter, using masking tape as needed to hold sections while seating adjacent areas.
- Trim any excess seal material with a utility knife for a clean finish, then wipe away any excess adhesive.
- Allow adhesive to cure if used (follow adhesive manufacturer cure times), then reinstall any interior trim and check for proper fit and leaks with a water test.
