Chrome left-hand outer door handle designed for 1980–1994 GM cars and trucks. This direct-replacement exterior handle secures the door latch and restores the vehicle’s factory appearance while resisting corrosion with a polished chrome finish.   • Flat-head screwdriver or plastic trim panel tool
  • Socket wrench and appropriate sockets (commonly 7/16" or 10mm)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Masking tape
  • Light lubricant (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Lower the window and disconnect the negative battery terminal if desired for safety.
  2. Remove the interior door panel: pry off trim clips, remove screws, and carefully lift the panel away from the door frame.
  3. Peel back or remove the moisture/vapor barrier as needed to access the handle linkage and mounting hardware.
  4. Locate and remove the retaining nuts or screws that secure the exterior handle from the inside of the door.
  5. Disconnect the linkage rods and clip(s) from the old handle using needle-nose pliers; note linkage orientation for reassembly.
  6. Remove the old handle from the outside of the door and clean mounting area of dirt or corrosion.
  7. Position the new chrome left-hand outer handle into the door opening, reconnect linkage rods and secure clips, and fasten mounting nuts/screws snugly.
  8. Operate the handle to verify smooth movement and proper latch engagement; adjust linkage if necessary.
  9. Reinstall the moisture barrier and interior door panel, fastening all screws and clips.
  10. Test the door operation again and reattach the battery terminal if disconnected.
