Front lower ball joint designed to replace worn or damaged units on 1963-2000 Chevrolet, Dodge, GMC, and Plymouth passenger vehicles and trucks. This precision-molded lower ball joint restores proper steering geometry and suspension articulation, securing the control arm to the steering knuckle while allowing smooth pivoting motion. Built for durability and reliable performance, it helps eliminate play, reduce uneven tire wear, and improve handling and safety. Ideal for restoration, routine maintenance, or suspension rebuilds, this direct-fit unit simplifies replacement and returns factory alignment characteristics.

Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Break bar or impact wrench
  • Ball joint separator (pickle fork) or press
  • Torque wrench
  • Hammer
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Grease gun (if greaseable)
  • Penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and block rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front lug nuts, raise vehicle with a jack, and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to fasteners and remove the cotter pin and castellated nut (if equipped) from the ball joint stud.
  4. Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or press. Support the control arm to avoid sudden drops.
  5. Remove the fasteners or press out the old ball joint from the control arm per vehicle-specific service procedure.
  6. Clean mounting surfaces and inspect control arm and knuckle for damage or excessive wear. Replace any damaged components before installing the new ball joint.
  7. Install the new ball joint into the control arm or press into place. Secure with the provided nut/fasteners and torque to the manufacturer's specification.
  8. Reconnect the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to spec, and insert a new cotter pin if required. Grease the joint if it is a greaseable model.
  9. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to specification, and perform a wheel alignment if suspension geometry was altered.
