Front upper control arm with integrated ball joint engineered for 1999–2012 Chevrolet, GMC and Hummer trucks and SUVs. This steel control arm (right or left hand) secures the upper suspension link and ball joint to the vehicle’s frame, maintaining proper wheel alignment, steering response and suspension geometry. Built for durability and reliable performance, the assembly restores factory fit and function after wear or collision damage and helps reduce vibration and uneven tire wear. Designed as a direct-fit replacement, it provides straightforward installation for repair, restoration or routine maintenance.
Features:
- Fitment: Direct-fit front upper control arm with ball joint for 1999–2012 Chevrolet, GMC and Hummer vehicles (right or left hand application).
- Material: Heavy-gauge steel construction for strength and longevity under road stresses.
- Function: Secures upper suspension link and integrates a pre-installed ball joint to maintain alignment and steering precision.
- Durability: Corrosion-resistant finish and robust bushings to withstand daily driving and off-road conditions.
- Ease of use: Supplied as a complete assembly to simplify replacement — no ball joint press required in most installations.
- Restoration: Ideal for collision repair, worn-component replacement, and chassis restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and block rear wheels. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to control arm mounting bolts, ball joint nut and related fasteners. Allow to soak if corroded.
- Remove the nut securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint separator or puller to separate the ball joint stud from the knuckle.
- Support the lower control arm and remove any sway bar end link or stabilizer connections, if interfering with removal.
- Unbolt the upper control arm mounting hardware at the frame. Carefully lower and remove the old control arm assembly.
- Compare the replacement part to the removed unit to verify orientation (right/left) and fitment.
- Install the new control arm into the frame mounting points and hand-thread mounting bolts. Reconnect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to manufacturer torque specifications.
- Tighten frame mounting bolts to specified torque values with the vehicle at ride height if required by the vehicle manufacturer (use jack to support suspension to approximate ride height).
- Reinstall any sway bar links or other components removed earlier. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Perform a full wheel alignment after installation to ensure correct toe, camber and caster settings and to prevent premature tire wear.
