Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Remove cotter pin and castle nut (if applicable) from the upper ball joint stud.
- Separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle using a ball joint press or suitable separator tool.
- If replacing only the ball joint, press out the old ball joint from the control arm with a ball joint press. If replacing the entire assembly, remove mounting bolts and detach the assembly from the vehicle.
- Clean mounting surfaces and inspect control arm and knuckle for damage. Replace other worn components as needed.
- Press the new ball joint into the control arm or install the new assembly and secure with the supplied hardware. Torque fasteners to manufacturer specifications.
- Reconnect the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, install the castle nut and new cotter pin (if required), and torque to spec.
- Reinstall wheel, lower vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Have wheel alignment checked and adjusted by a professional after installation to ensure proper handling and tire life.
