Inner tie rod end for 2011–2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles designed to connect the steering rack to the outer tie rod, maintain proper toe alignment, and transmit steering input with minimal play. This replacement part restores steering precision, reduces vibration and uneven tire wear, and helps maintain safe handling. Built for durability and reliable performance, it’s an ideal choice for maintenance or restoration projects where OEM fit and dependable steering response are required. Compatible with right- or left-hand inner tie rod applications for the specified model years.
Features:
- Fits 2011–2018 Ford and Lincoln models (inner tie rod end, right or left hand applications).
- Precision-machined with hardened ball stud for accurate steering response and reduced play.
- Secures the steering rack to the tie-rod assembly to maintain proper alignment and toe settings.
- Corrosion-resistant finish and durable sealing boot to protect against contaminants and extend service life.
- Direct-replacement form, fit, and function for restoration or routine steering system repairs.
- Easy installation with common hand tools; rebuilds steering feel and helps prevent premature tire wear.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to the inner tie rod lock nut and mating threads as needed to ease removal.
- Locate and loosen the lock nut on the outer tie rod; count or measure the turns required to remove the outer tie rod from the inner so you can preserve alignment.
- Separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod separator or pickle fork, then unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner and move it aside.
- Use the appropriate inner tie rod tool (or wrench if accessible) to loosen and remove the inner tie rod from the steering rack.
- Compare the new part to the old one for correct length and orientation, then thread the new inner tie rod onto the steering rack hand-tight, followed by final torque to recommended specification.
- Reattach the outer tie rod using the previously noted turn count to approximate alignment, tighten the lock nut, and reconnect to the steering knuckle. Torque all fasteners to factory specs.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe and prevent uneven tire wear.
