Front outer right-hand tie rod end designed for 2011-2018 Ford F-150 vehicles. This replacement steering component secures the steering knuckle to the steering linkage, ensuring precise steering response, reduced play, and safe vehicle handling. Built for durability and reliable fitment, it restores proper alignment geometry and minimizes uneven tire wear. The part is pre-greased (where applicable) and engineered for straightforward installation to get your truck back on the road quickly.
Features:
- Fits: 2011-2018 Ford F-150, front outer right-hand tie rod end
- High-strength steel construction for long-lasting durability
- Restores steering precision and reduces free play in the steering system
- Protective boot helps prevent contamination and premature wear
- Designed for direct replacement to simplify suspension restoration
- Pre-greased joint (where applicable) for smooth operation and reduced maintenance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, then lift the front of the vehicle with a jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Locate the front outer right tie rod end on the steering knuckle and use a marker to scribe the position of the old tie rod on the inner tie rod for rough alignment reference.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and count or mark the number of turns required to remove the outer tie rod end to preserve approximate toe setting.
- Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castellated nut or retaining nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
- Use a tie rod puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end taper from the steering knuckle. Tap carefully with a hammer if needed to free the joint.
- Unscrew the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the recorded number of turns (or to the scribed position). Remove the nut and take off the old tie rod end.
- Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the recorded position or until the scribed marks align. Tighten the jam nut against the new tie rod end.
- Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, install the retaining nut and tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque. Install a new cotter pin if required.
- If the new part has a grease zerk, apply grease as specified. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to spec.
- Because steering geometry may have changed, have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure proper toe and tire wear.
