Tie Rod End Outer (Right / Left Hand) designed for 2011–2019 Ford and Lincoln vehicles. This replacement outer tie rod end connects the steering linkage to the wheel hub, maintaining proper steering geometry and alignment. It secures the steering knuckle to the inner tie rod, helping transmit steering input while absorbing road forces to reduce play and vibration. Constructed for durability and reliable performance, this part restores steering precision, improves tire wear, and is suitable for suspension/steering repairs and vehicle restorations. Easy to install with common tools, it provides a dependable, long-lasting solution for worn or damaged outer tie rod ends.
Features:
  • Fits 2011–2019 Ford and Lincoln models — outer tie rod end, available for right- or left-hand application.
  • Constructed from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant coating for long service life.
  • Secures the steering knuckle to the tie rod, maintaining alignment and responsive steering.
  • Designed to reduce play and vibration for improved handling and even tire wear.
  • Includes a replaceable ball joint and dust boot to protect against contaminants.
  • Direct-fit replacement for restoring steering performance during suspension repairs.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes (per side)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Lug wrench or impact gun
  • Wrenches/sockets (typically 17mm–24mm)
  • Tie rod puller or pickle fork
  • Pliers
  • Torque wrench
  • Hammer
  • Measuring tape or alignment tool
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise vehicle and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle and loosen the jam nut securing it to the inner tie rod.
  4. Remove the cotter pin (if present) and unfasten the castle or hex nut holding the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  5. Use a tie rod puller or a pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Tap gently with a hammer if needed.
  6. Count the number of exposed threads or measure distance from a fixed point to the end of the inner tie rod to preserve alignment when installing the new part.
  7. Unscrew the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod and remove it.
  8. Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the recorded position (or match the original thread count), then tighten the jam nut to secure.
  9. Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, torque the nut to manufacturer specification, and install a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
  11. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure correct steering geometry and tire wear.
