Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake and prop the hood open with the factory hood support.
- Locate the existing hood bumper(s) on the hood or radiator support and note their orientation and height.
- If present, remove the old bumper by holding the stud with pliers and unscrewing the nut or by pulling the push-fit bumper straight out.
- Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a cloth; use a wire brush to remove rust or debris if needed.
- Install the new BMP 045 by inserting the threaded stud into the hole and hand-starting the nut (or push into the grommet if push-fit).
- Tighten the nut until the bumper is secure but still allows slight compression — test hood closure and hood-to-fender gap.
- Adjust bumper height as needed by loosening or tightening the nut to achieve even hood alignment and a snug, vibration-free fit.
- Close and open the hood several times to verify fit and make any final height adjustments. Re-check tightness after a short test drive.
