Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and support the liftgate in the open position with a prop or assistant.
- Locate the existing rear liftgate bumper; remove any trim or covers as needed to access mounting hardware.
- Apply penetrating lubricant to mounting bolts if they appear corroded; loosen and remove the old bumper and hardware.
- Clean the mounting surface with a cloth and mild degreaser; remove rust and debris to ensure a flush fit.
- Position the BMP 042 bumper on the mounting points, aligning pre-drilled holes with vehicle studs or bolt holes.
- Install the supplied hardware (or existing hardware if in good condition) and hand-tighten each fastener to hold the bumper in place.
- Torque fasteners to the manufacturer-recommended specification or to a snug setting if specs are not available (do not overtighten elastomer components).
- Open and close the liftgate several times to verify clearance, cushioning, and alignment; make small adjustments to bumper position if necessary.
- Reinstall any removed trim and perform a final check for secure fitment and proper operation.
