- Seals out water, wind and dust while reducing vibration and road noise.
- Profiles designed to retain trim in the factory trim groove and align molding.
- Complete kit intended to replace worn or cracked seals during restoration or maintenance.
- Pre‑formed lengths and OE‑style profiles for easier fit and finish.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–3 hours (depending on vehicle and number of seals replaced)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and open the doors/trunk/windows you will service.
- Carefully remove old weatherstrip and any exposed trim or fasteners using trim tools and screwdrivers.
- Clean the mounting channel and surrounding surface with isopropyl alcohol; remove all old adhesive and debris. Allow to dry.
- Test fit new weatherstrip pieces in their intended locations without adhesive to confirm proper orientation and length; trim excess if necessary.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel or to the bulb as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Press the weatherstrip into the groove, working in short sections; use painter’s tape or clamps to hold pieces in place while adhesive sets.
- Reinstall any trim or fasteners removed earlier and check door/window operation for proper clearance and sealing.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before exposing to moisture or heavy use.
