A complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for 1st Series models that feature a weatherstrip trim groove. This kit restores the cab seal to factory-like performance by securing and aligning the rubber channel in the trim groove, keeping out water, wind and road noise. Durable, ozone- and UV-resistant materials plus included cab windlace make installation straightforward and reliable for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1st Series models with a weatherstrip trim groove (cab applications).
- Complete kit includes precision-molded weatherstrip and cab windlace for a secure trim-groove fit.
- Made from UV- and ozone-resistant EPDM-style rubber for long-lasting sealing performance.
- Restores factory fit and finish to prevent leaks, drafts and interior damage.
- Easy to install with basic tools — ideal for restorations and routine replacement.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open the cab access area where the weatherstrip will be replaced.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and windlace by prying gently with a trim tool or screwdriver; retain any fasteners if reusable.
- Clean the trim groove thoroughly with solvent or isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; remove old adhesive and debris, and allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip in the groove to confirm orientation and length; trim excess material with scissors or a utility knife if necessary.
- Thread the cab windlace into the weatherstrip channel if not pre-installed, making sure it seats evenly along the entire length.
- Seat the weatherstrip into the trim groove, starting at one end and working toward the other; use a seam roller or rubber mallet to press the channel fully into the groove.
- If additional adhesion is desired, apply a thin, manufacturer-recommended weatherstrip adhesive in short sections as you install, allowing proper tack-up time.
- Trim and tuck the ends neatly; reattach any retained fasteners and check the seal by closing the cab and testing for gaps or drafts.
- Allow adhesive (if used) to cure per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions before exposing to moisture or heavy use.
