Complete weatherstrip seal kit engineered for vehicles that use non-metal framed (frameless) door glass and do not have a weatherstrip trim groove. This kit replaces worn or brittle door seals to restore a tight, factory-like seal that prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and protects interior trim. Made for restoration and replacement applications, the kit provides long-lasting, flexible sealing that improves comfort and preserves vehicle value. Durable, weather-resistant materials ensure reliable performance and straightforward installation for home mechanics or professional restorers.
Features:
- Designed for models without a weatherstrip trim groove and with non-metal framed (frameless) door glass.
- Manufactured from durable, ozone- and UV-resistant EPDM-style rubber for long service life.
- Restores proper door sealing to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and interior damage.
- Push-in and adhesive locations for a secure, factory-like fit and finish.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; ideal for restoration or replacement of aged seals.
- Precision-molded profiles ensure consistent sealing pressure against glass and body surfaces.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–3 hours per door (depending on experience and door complexity)
Instructions:
- Prepare the work area and protect interior surfaces with drop cloths or tape.
- Remove the door panel and any inner trim pieces that obstruct access to the old weatherstrip.
- Carefully pull out the old seal. Remove retaining clips or old adhesive residues using pliers and a flat tool as needed.
- Clean the seal channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or appropriate solvent. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door and frameless glass to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess material as needed using a utility knife.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive where specified by the kit instructions or where the seal requires extra retention. Use soapy water or silicone spray to lubricate the bulb for easier seating if applicable.
- Starting at one end (usually the top corner), press the new seal into the channel, working along the length and making sure the bulb seats fully and evenly. Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive sets, if needed.
- Reinstall any clips or retainers removed earlier, and trim or butt the seal ends so there are no gaps.
- Reinstall the door panel and trim. Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before closing the door repeatedly.
- Check door operation, glass travel, and inspect for leaks or wind noise. Make minor adjustments or re-seat sections if necessary.
