Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out the existing seal and any retaining clips or adhesive residue.
- Clean the mounting channel: wipe thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or degreaser and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new pieces: position left and right seals in the door channel to verify fit and identify any trimming points.
- Apply adhesive: follow the adhesive manufacturer's directions and apply a continuous bead to the channel or to the seal flange as recommended.
- Position the seal: starting at one end, press the weatherstrip into the channel, working along the length and ensuring the profile seats fully.
- Secure corners and ends: use masking tape or clamps to hold the seal in place while adhesive sets; trim any excess with scissors or a utility knife.
- Allow cure time: let the adhesive set per instructions (typically 1–24 hours) before closing the door repeatedly.
- Check the seal: inspect for gaps, uneven seating, or interference with door operation and make minor adjustments if needed.
- Final test: close the door to confirm proper alignment, and inspect for reduced wind noise and water tightness.
