A direct-fit rear window weatherstrip designed to restore a watertight, wind-noise-free seal where the glass meets the body. This weatherstrip (WCR D0437) features a built-in trim groove to accept steel trim for a factory-correct appearance and secure retention. It protects the interior from water intrusion, reduces vibration and rattling, and helps maintain proper window alignment. Verify part number WCR D0437 against your vehicle's application to ensure correct fitment before installation.
Features:
- Part number WCR D0437 — verify against your vehicle for correct fitment.
- Durable EPDM rubber construction resists weathering, ozone and UV exposure.
- Trim groove accepts steel trim for a factory-style finish and secure hold.
- Forms a watertight seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise and vibration.
- OEM-style profile for proper window alignment and smooth installation.
- Ideal for restoration or replacement of worn, cracked, or torn rear seals.
- Easy to handle and trim if small adjustments are required during fitment.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and lower rear window (if applicable) to access the weatherstrip area.
- Carefully remove any exterior steel trim: loosen screws or gently pry clips using a trim tool to avoid damaging the trim or paint.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; cut away any stubborn sections with a razor blade as needed.
- Thoroughly clean the channel and surrounding metal with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove rust, old adhesive, and debris.
- Inspect the steel trim and repair or replace any bent or corroded sections so they seat properly in the new groove.
- Lightly lubricate the new weatherstrip's outer lip and the channel with silicone spray or soapy water to aid installation.
- Begin fitting the new weatherstrip at one corner (typically the top center), pressing the bead firmly into the channel and ensuring the trim groove is oriented to accept the steel trim.
- Work around the opening, pressing the seal into place and trimming excess material at the ends for a snug fit. Use weatherstrip adhesive on corners or problem areas if extra retention is needed.
- Reinstall the steel trim into the groove, securing clips or screws without over-tightening to prevent distortion.
- Inspect the seal for even seating, test the window operation (if applicable), and perform a water test to check for leaks.
