Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and remove any interior trim or windshield molding that overlaps the upper header seal.
- Carefully pry out and remove the old weatherstrip using a trim tool and putty knife; remove old adhesive and debris from the header and surrounding surfaces.
- Clean the header flange and mating surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover; allow to dry fully.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip to the header to confirm orientation and fit; trim any excess as needed before applying adhesive.
- Apply a thin, even layer of weatherstrip adhesive to the header flange or the bulb of the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions (some adhesives require application to both surfaces).
- Starting at the center of the header, press the seal into place and work outward toward the corners, ensuring the seal seats fully into the channel; use masking tape to hold in position if needed.
- Reinstall windshield molding and any removed trim; gently tap with a rubber mallet or block to secure fit if necessary.
- Allow adhesive to cure as directed by the adhesive manufacturer (typically 24 hours) before exposing the vehicle to moisture or driving at high speeds.
