Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and work in a well-lit area.
- Carefully remove the windshield side molding or trim: use a plastic trim tool to pry the molding away from the body, working slowly to avoid damage.
- Remove the old or broken clips from the body/channel. Use needle-nose pliers if needed to pull out stubborn clips.
- Clean the clip channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and oils.
- Compare new clips to the old ones to confirm correct orientation and fit.
- Position each new clip into the body/channel at the corresponding factory locations. Align the clip tabs with the slots or holes, then press firmly until the clip snaps into place. Ensure clip legs are fully seated and flush with the panel.
- Reinstall the molding by aligning it over the clips and pressing along its length until it snaps onto each clip securely. Start at one end and work evenly to avoid bending the molding.
- Inspect the installed molding to verify even fitment and that all clips are engaged. Gently tug on the molding to confirm a secure hold.
- Repeat for the opposite side if needed. Test-drive at varied speeds and check for wind noise or movement; re-seat any clips if necessary.
